HOW A HAND UP PROVIDED A BUSINESS CLASS TICKET TO NEW GLOBAL CONTRACTS

“TEi Services has a long history of bringing local expertise to globally significant projects and this is another string to the bow which the entire

TEi Services team is incredibly proud of…”

As a business owner, the old adage that we welcome a hand up, not a handout, couldn’t be truer.

TEi Services was thrilled to recently be announced as a recipient of Queensland Government funding through the Defence and Aerospace Industry Development Fund. The support has helped us to get certification ready which gives us a huge advantage when it comes to qualifying for- and winning- Defence contracts.

We’ve recently been audited by Rheinmetall Defence Australia to prepare for the Land 400 Phase Two, following many years of work on our systems and certifications in preparation. The next step in the process is getting certified with the German Government to support the Rheinmetall supply chain networks.

By developing our capabilities, we’re able to compete for national and global supply chain opportunities.

So, we could be building components to go to Hungary, Germany or anywhere across the globe which is really great for a small Townsville business.

It also allows us to train the skilled workforce for the future which is something TEi Services prides itself on. We have 12 apprentices currently, with more coming onboard this year in fitting, turning and boilermaking.  We are also committed to the training of semi-skilled workers to be able to weld to the requirements of the projects, and the continual development, education and training of our existing workforce.

The Defence and Aerospace Industry Development Fund helps our entire workforce to be part of something special and gives them diversity in the workplace.

TEi Services has a long history of bringing local expertise to globally significant projects and this is another string to the bow which the entire TEi Services team is incredibly proud of.

We’d encourage any business that may be eligible to apply for Round Two of the Defence and Aerospace Industry Development Fund, which provides up to $30,000 in matched funding to obtain certifications.

Our ethos around training the future of our industry, coupled with supportive government grants such as these, means that the future of Townsville manufacturing will be in safe and skilled hands.
